We’re delighted to have Esther back with us. Esther brings a powerful voice and a presence on stage that will keep you wondering where it comes from!

Esther Thirimu was born in the distant Kenya but moved to Japan years ago already. She has made a name for herself, sang alongside superstar Mariah Carey and many others. Has been singing in many jazz festivals such as the Saitama Shintoshin love Jazz or the Ikebukuro Jazz Festival. You might have been able to listen to her voice at the Park Hyatt or the Roppongi Hills club, now you can also enjoy her at Nyx!

As for this Friday’s live music, our house singer, Claudia will be back.
Claudia performs regularly at several hot spots in Tokyo singing jazz and pop. She has toured Japan with Exile singing backup for Atsushi and has also been a backup singer for the the legendary Ben E. King. Nyx is fortunate to have her back for this Friday and Saturday. Her upbeat rythm and energy bring a unique mix that is tantalizing–drop by for a Nishi-Azabu getaway.

On Friday, we have the immense pleasure of welcoming Donna Burke amongst us for the first time.
She became famous world-wide in 2010 for the Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker ending theme, “When Heavens Divide”. Her other hits include “After All” from the Gundam movie in 2001, “God and Man” from God Eater 2010, “Glassy Sky” from Tokyo Ghoul 2015, “Way in the Dark” from the hit mobile game Implosion 2015 and her latest hit “Sins of the Father” from MGSV The Phantom Pain, which was recorded at Capital Records in LA in 2013 and at Dagmusic Studio in Tokyo. Donna recorded a jazz standards album in 2001 at Mad Hatter Studios in LA and regularly performs at concerts and private events. Donna is a dynamic live performer in addition to being a recording artist- as she says, “Performing live just means less comfy shoes, bigger hair and more makeup!”
